The rebranding of boe with its new motto People. Events. Innovations. highlights how important this triad is for successful international events. Ultimately, it is about the impact of communication and the co-creation that can result from it – with and without AI.
For all this to happen, an international event should be planned and designed in such a way that it resonates – in other words, that it is sustainable. When it comes to sustainability in the context of international events, most people think of the equipment, catering and supporting programme, as well as the location of the events. These are all hard factors in the area of ecological and economic sustainability.

But what about social sustainability?
Here, too, there are soft and hard factors. The soft factors include understanding and participation for all participants. This enables successful and effective communication, because it means that everyone is well informed and can contribute to discussions. Only in this way will your event continue to resonate with participants even after a few days or weeks, leaving behind what we all want – a legacy. What do people do with the input from the event? Do they take anything away from it at all? What remains?
For all this to be possible, hard factors must be in place: linguistic and cultural bridges must be built.

We would therefore be well advised not only to make international events ecologically and economically sustainable, but also to pay more attention to the aspect of social sustainability – especially in this day and age of generative AI. Ultimately, it is about the triad of the people for an event, the event itself and the use of innovations.
