A Look Ahead – Economic Developments and Political Frameworks in 2026

Many people in the industry are looking at their order books for 2026 with concern and asking themselves what the economic outlook will be like and which political conditions may change.

In this panel, we take a forward-looking view of the event industry’s economic development based on the latest surveys. We also discuss current developments around the legally secure engagement of solo self-employed professionals and the increasing flexibility of working time regulations.

Mike P. Heisel ist ein deutscher Musik-, Kultur- und Medienmanager mit über vier Jahrzehnten Branchenerfahrung. Seit 2000 arbeitet er als Berater, Kulturstratege und Projektentwickler für Unternehmen, Künstlerinnen und Künstler sowie öffentliche Institutionen und gilt als profilierte Persönlichkeit der deutschen Musik- und Kulturwirtschaft. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit liegt auf den weltweiten Tourneen der Musikgruppe Gregorian und auf großen Kultur-, Firmen- und Expo-Projekten. Er war am Kulturprogramm des Deutschen Pavillons der Expo 2015 in Mailand sowie der Expo 2020 in Dubai beteiligt und war Kurator für das Kulturprogramm des Deutschen Pavillons auf der Expo 2025 in Osaka. 

In der Bundeskonferenz Veranstaltungswirtschaft gehört er dem Rat der Sprecher:innen an und vertritt dort den Bereich Live-Entertainment im politischen Dialog.

Mike P. Heisel is a German music, culture, and media manager with over four decades of industry experience. Since 2000, he has been working as a consultant, cultural strategist, and project developer for companies, artists, and public institutions, and is considered a prominent figure in the German music and cultural industry. A particular focus of his work is on the worldwide tours of the music group Gregorian and on major cultural, corporate, and Expo projects. He was involved in the cultural program of the German Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan and Expo 2020 in Dubai, and was curator for the cultural program of the German Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka. 

He is a member of the Council of Spokespersons of the Federal Conference on the Event Industry, where he represents the live entertainment sector in political dialogue.

Seit 1986 ist Marcel Fery in der Veranstaltungswirtschaft tätig. Zuerst als freier Tontechniker international, später Firmengründung bis hin zur TSE AG. Marcel Fery ist neben seinem Engagement im Rat der Vertreter:innen der Bundeskonferenz Veranstaltungswirtschaft auch Mitinitiator der Alarmstufe Rot.

Marcel Fery has been working in the event management industry since 1986. He started out as a freelance sound engineer working internationally, before going on to found TSE AG. In addition to his involvement in the Council of Representatives of the Federal Conference on Event Management, Marcel Fery is also a co-initiator of Alarmstufe Rot (Red Alert).
