Funded with 150,000 euros by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), KRIDEM showcases new pathways toward a circular and economically efficient trade fair industry. In light of rising resource and process costs, the project provides robust approaches for sustainable yet economically resilient sector development.
In her keynote, Prof. Dr. Kim Werner explains how KRIDEM takes a holistic view of the trade fair industry and uses the nexus approach to optimize resource systems. The result: efficient, cost-saving, and economically viable models. Particularly pioneering is the role of Leipziger Messe as an official KRIDEM partner. With OTWorld, it offers an internationally leading trade fair as a real-world laboratory to test and further develop circular processes under real conditions.
In the subsequent talk, key stakeholders of the research project will share their insights:
• Christoph Soukup (2bdifferent)
• Prof. Dr. Kim Werner (Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)
• Michel Ghattas-Kämpfner (Leipziger Messe)
• Barbara Lüder (AUMA)
• Justine Hein (tw tagungswirtschaft / m+a report)
• Jürgen May (2bdifferent)
Discover how KRIDEM connects research, practice, and industry expertise — and which concrete steps can guide the trade fair sector toward a circular and economically robust future.
