Ihre Moderation wird getragen von jahrelanger Erfahrung als Reporterin und Redakteurin – sowohl vor, als auch hinter der Kamera. Unter anderem bei RTL, Axel-Springer Digital TV, der Deutschen Welle, dem MDR und natürlich dem ZDF. Dort hat sie fast ein Jahrzehnt das ZDF-Morgenmagazin moderiert, war im „Außendienst“ für das Auslandsjournal unterwegs und hat als Reporterin von den Wahlsendungen berichtet und bis heute dort vor und hinter der Kamera unterwegs.
Im MDR hat sie von 2014 bis 2025 die Talkshow „Fakt ist!“ aus Magdeburg moderiert und für den Sender Wahlarenen und Spitzenkandidatenrunden vor den Landtagswahlen bestritten.
Doch neben der Politik sind es vor allem aktuelle gesellschaftspolitische Entwicklungen, die sie in ihrem Alltag beschäftigen: Klimawandel, die Alterung der Gesellschaft, Digitalisierung und Kommunikation. Ein Schwerpunkt in Ihrer Arbeit ist die Transformation und ihre Auswirkungen in Ostdeutschland.
Auf der Suche nach Lösungen hat sie auf alles eine Frage und manchmal einen ziemlich schrägen Humor.

Her presenting style is underpinned by years of experience as a reporter and editor – both in front of and behind the camera. These include stints at RTL, Axel Springer Digital TV, Deutsche Welle, MDR and, of course, ZDF. There, she presented the ZDF Morgenmagazin for almost a decade, worked in the field for the Auslandsjournal, reported on election programmes as a correspondent, and continues to work there both in front of and behind the camera to this day.
At MDR, she presented the talk show “Fakt ist!” from Magdeburg from 2014 to 2025 and hosted election debates and rounds of discussions with leading candidates for the broadcaster ahead of the state elections.
But alongside politics, it is above all current socio-political developments that occupy her in her day-to-day life: climate change, an ageing society, digitalisation and communication. A key focus of her work is transformation and its impact in eastern Germany.
In her search for solutions, she has a question for everything – and sometimes a rather offbeat sense of humour.

Dr. Gerhard Holtmeier ist seit 1. Juni 2023 Interimsmanager und seit 1. Oktober 2023 Vorsitzender der DEW21-Geschäftsführung. Der promovierte Jurist und Rechtsanwalt verantwortet das kaufmännische Ressort, zu dem die Bereiche Finance, Marketing & Kommunikation, Sales & Operations, Recht, Revision & Governance und Unternehmensentwicklung gehören. Gerhard Holtmeier war nach seinem Berufsstart bei der Ruhrgas AG bzw. Ruhrgas Energie Beteiligungs-AG in Essen im Investmentbanking im Bereich „Energy/Public Sector“ bei der Privatbank „Sal. Oppenheim“, Köln, tätig und hat danach Vorstandspositionen bei VNG – Verbundnetz Gas AG in Leipzig sowie bei der Thüga AG in München bekleidet. Im Anschluss übernahm er 2018 den Vorstandsvorsitz der GASAG AG, Berlin. Seit Ende 2022 ist er Geschäftsführer der UBG Uniper Beteiligungsholding GmbH und seit März 2023 Mitglied des Aufsichtsrates der Uniper SE, Düsseldorf.
Dr. Gerhard Holtmeier is Interim Manager since June 1, 2023 and Chairman of the DEW21 Management Board since October 1, 2023. The doctor of law and lawyer is responsible for the commercial department, which includes Finance, Marketing & Communication, Sales & Operations, Legal, Audit & Governance and Corporate Development. After starting his career at Ruhrgas AG and Ruhrgas Energie Beteiligungs-AG in Essen, Gerhard Holtmeier worked in investment banking in the "Energy/Public Sector" division at the private bank "Sal. Oppenheim", Cologne, and then held Management Board positions at VNG - Verbundnetz Gas AG in Leipzig and Thüga AG in Munich. He then took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of GASAG AG, Berlin, in 2018. He has been Managing Director of UBG Uniper Beteiligungsholding GmbH since the end of 2022 and a member of the Supervisory Board of Uniper SE, Düsseldorf, since March 2023.
