Panel Talk: From the stage to the spotlight: start-ups between the event industry and politics

By wdo, 6 January, 2025

How do start-ups manage to become visible in the event industry and in politics? This exciting question is at the centre of our panel discussion at BOE! Alongside me, Georg Winkel, CEO of SWOOFLE and initiator of the BOE Startup Area powered by SWOOFLE, I welcome Alexander Ostermaier, Managing Director of fwd: Bundesvereinigung Veranstaltungswirtschaft, and Stijn Oude Vrielink, founder of Venue Marketing specialist for venues & hotels.

In our talk, which will also be recorded as a podcast and YouTube video, we will shed light on the often overlooked perspective of start-ups in the MICE industry. Why is there so little political support for young companies? How can start-ups gain targeted support from investors and business angels? And what demands do we need to make as an industry in order to achieve real change?

A discussion that sets new impulses and shows why it is time to give start-ups a stronger voice - in the event industry and beyond!

Georg Winkel, CEO SWOOFLE
