The heat transition opens up new opportunities for municipal utilities to make their heating networks economically viable, climate-friendly and future-proof. Large-scale heat pumps are a key technology in this regard: they tap into renewable and previously untapped heat sources, reduce the use of fossil fuels and increase the efficiency of heating networks.
Using practical examples, this presentation demonstrates how large-scale heat pumps can be successfully integrated into existing and new heating networks. It examines the technical, economic and regulatory framework, as well as the potential for intelligent system integration with heat storage, photovoltaics and power-to-heat.
Participants will gain insights into successfully implemented projects, current market and technology trends, and specific recommendations for the planning, implementation and cost-effective operation of sustainable heating networks.
