Präsident des GdW Bundesverband deutscher Wohnungs- und Immobilienunternehmen e.V.
Der studierte Jurist war von 1993 bis 2000 juristischer Dezernent im Dienst des Landes Niedersachen. Im November 2000 erfolgte die Wahl zum Ersten Kreisrat des Landkreises Harburg. 2003 errang er das Landratsmandat des Landkreises Harburg. 2006 wurde Axel Gedaschko zum Staatsrat der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg berufen und 2007 zum Senator der Behörde für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt in Hamburg ernannt. Im Mai 2008 erfolgte die Ernennung zum Wirtschaftssenator und Präses der Behörde für Wirtschaft und Arbeit in der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg. Seit dem 01.02.2011 ist Axel Gedaschko Präsident des GdW.

A qualified lawyer, he served as a legal officer for the State of Lower Saxony from 1993 to 2000. In November 2000, he was elected First District Councillor for the Harburg district. In 2003, he was elected District Administrator of the Harburg district. In 2006, Axel Gedaschko was appointed State Councillor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and, in 2007, Senator for Urban Development and the Environment in Hamburg. In May 2008, he was appointed Senator for Economic Affairs and Head of the Authority for Economic Affairs and Labour in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Axel Gedaschko has been President of the GdW since 1 February 2011.
